Cameron Waldeck-Cooks appears carefree in video before ‘murder’

Cameron Waldeck-Cooks was seen dancing with a group of pals, just days before her death, in a video posted on TikTok. The St Stithian Grade 11 learner was allegedly killed in a murder-suicide involving former matriculant Ethan Coetzee.
The teens’ bodies were discovered in a Sabi game lodge in Mpumalanga on Monday, 3 August.

In a tribute posted by a pal on TikTok, Cameron Waldeck-Cooks joyfully danced alongside a group of friends
The blonde teen appeared happy and carefree, blissfully unaware of what would transpire a few days later.
“Here’s to you, my Cam”, her pal captioned the clip.
In the comments section, another friend added: “To think this was just a week ago”.
According to a statement from her family, Cameron Waldeck-Cooks would spend the weekend with another family at a lodge in Sabie on a hiking adventure.

An independent forensic pathologist’s preliminary findings indicated that Cameron died as a result of strangulation and suffocation. Police have stated that Ethan, who was 19-years old, may have died by suicide.

Both Cameron Waldeck-Cooks and Ethan Coetzee’s lives were tragically cut short in the double tragedy,
Cameron, a St. Stithians Girls College Grade 11 student, was working towards the Gold level of The President’s Award for Youth Empowerment, which is part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
She was also in the rowing and netball clubs and was described as a “natural leader” and a “big sister”.
Meanwhile, Ethan – who matriculated in 20215 – had been part of the first team rugby club, was a national champion in the equestrian sport of Eventing, and was a respected senior student at Penryn House.
