PINSON, Ala. (WIAT) -- Clay-Chalkville enters the 2026 season aiming to win back-to-back state titles. The Cougars finished the 2025 season 15-0 and outscored opponents by an average of 33 points per game.
Head coach Stuart Floyd has emphasized battling complacency in the offseason. The third-year head coach stressed the challenge is in going back-to-back, not winning one blue map.

Clay-Chalkville opens the season ranked No. 1 in 5A. The Cougars never dropped below No. 2 a season ago.
The Cougars open the season on the road at a nationally ranked Creekside, Georgia, team. Clay-Chalkville plays at Thompson the following week.
