Watch: BYU commit Moa Havili shows off his wheels — and a stiff arm — on 80-yard touchdown run
· Yahoo Sports
Maa’imoa “Moa” Havili just gave BYU fans another reason to be excited when the Cougar commit suits up for them someday.
The 290-pound defensive lineman switched sides to offense during Granger’s matchup at Syracuse, and it provided a rare highlight on an otherwise difficult night for the Lancers in their 52-6 loss to the Titans on Thursday night.

Just minutes into the third quarter, Havili lined up in the backfield and took a quick handoff from the quarterback. After stiff-arming a pair of defenders near the line of scrimmage, Havili showed impressive speed in sprinting past a handful of defenders and outracing them for an 80-yard touchdown.

What a TD for @MoaHavili@granger_lancers@AFCU#TNL@FriNightRivals@KUTV2Newspic.twitter.com/DxJccloiWt
That would have been a highlight-worthy play even from a skill position commit, but considering it came from a lineman, Havili’s 80-yard score was a rare treat for recruiting fans.
Havili committed to BYU in May.
He is one of four defensive linemen committed to the Cougars in their 2027 recruiting class and is rated the No. 12 prospect from Utah in 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
