The Cowboys and the right tackle agreed to a three-year, $33 million reworked contract with $22 million fully guaranteed.

According to Adam Schefter and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys have acquired Broderick Jones and a 2027 fourth-round pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2027 third- and sixth-round pick. Jones has started 40 games throughout his first three seasons (including the playoffs), totaling 11 at left tackle and 29 at right tackle. He is expected to serve as the team’s swing tackle, unless he is able to dethrone Terence Steele.

Broderick Jones returned to left tackle, his college position in 2025. He started the first 11 games and allowed 23 pressures and six sacks before suffering a season-ending neck injury that required surgery. Jones did not participate in team drills during spring workouts but avoided the PUP list to start training camp. He saw an extended look at both tackle spots during the preseason but struggled due to being underweight and losing strength as a result of the neck surgery.
