Luton Town have signed Manchester United defensive midfielder Dan Gore on loan for the rest of the season.

The deal for the 21-year-old includes what the Hatters say is a "conditional option" to buy next summer.

Gore has made two substitute appearances for United's first team - in a League Cup tie against Crystal Palace in September 2023 and a Premier League game against Aston Villa three months later.

He spent last season on loan at Rotherham United, making 41 appearances - including both League One games against Luton - and scoring once.

"I had a good time at Rotherham, despite the relegation. I learnt a lot and the club's done a lot for me, so it was it was a good experience. I'm just looking to build on it now at Luton," he told the Luton website.

Boss Jack Wilshere added: "Dan was someone who, when we played Rotherham in the home game quite early on in our time here and drew 0-0, we spoke about as coaches, saying that we really liked him.

"He's got something a little bit different. He's aggressive in duels. He can carry the ball. He's got personality on the pitch. He loves a tackle, and he's someone that we kept our eye on in the second game up there."

Luton are next in action at home to Stockport County on Wednesday evening.
