Every game of every year is important, but matchups against division foes mean the most in the grand scheme of things. On that note, Green Bay will start 2026 against the Minnesota Vikings, hoping to take advantage of a team that has serious questions at the quarterback position.
Unfortunately, the Packers are not at full strength despite the fact that season has not yet begun.

Green Bay released their initial injury report for Week One against the Vikings. It contained eight players, two of which did not practice. Three of the limited participants were starting offensive linemen:
- Jordan Morgan (knee): limited participant
- Zach Bako-Bewele (knee): limited participant
- Aaron Banks (knee): limited participant
- Javon Hargrave (knee): limited participant
- Ty’Ron Hopper (Achilles): did not participate
- Warren Brinson (calf): did not participate
- Devonte Wyatt (ankle): limited participant
- Barryn Sorrell (foot): limited participant
As seen above, Zach Bako-Bewele (formely Zach Tom) was a limited participant in practice today due to a knee injury. He had offseason surgery on a partially torn patellar tendon that he suffered late last year.
While there have been questions regarding his availability for the start of the season, though, Bako-Bewele left no doubt as to what fans can expect on gameday:
Packers RT Zach Bako-Bewele told me that he “definitely” expects to play on Sunday and he plans to play the full game.
“When I’m out there, I do expect to perform at an elite level.”

As can be seen from the post above, Green Bay’s starting right tackle will be good to go come Week One. It sounds like the plan all along was to allow him time to work his way back slowly with the season opener being the goal all along.
Fortunately, he suffered no setbacks in his recovery and it appears that quarterback Jordan Love will have his best lineman protecting him on Sunday.
