The Stanford women's basketball team just made its first official splash for 2027, landing a commitment from Amisha Ramlall out of Rosemount, Minnesota.
The sharpshooting guard is a four-star recruit according to 247 Sports, ranking as high as 48th nationally. She had previously committed to Minnesota, but she announced her decision to head to The Farm on Thursday on social media. She had previously decommitted from Minnesota on August 28.

Ten minutes after Amisha announced her commitment to Stanford, her younger sister Ashna Ramlall announced her own commitment to the Cardinal as part of the 2028 class. The 5-foot-10 combo guard has been ranked 73rd nationally by Prep Girls Hoops.
Amisha's twin sister Arshia announced that she would be attending St. Cloud State in 2027. Their brother, Anish, is a senior at St. Cloud State this season.
The three sisters helped to dominate the Minnesota prep basketball landscape, leading Rosemount to its first-ever state championship this past spring. They defeated the nine-time state champions, the Hopkins Royals, in order to claim that crown.
In the 2025 FIBA Caribbean Women's Championship, Amisha (2027 class) averaged 19.3 points per game, three rebounds, and 1.8 assists as a member of the runner-up Guyanan team. Ashna (2028 class) was also on the team, averaging 9.8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
The separation of twins Amisha and Arshia will mark a new chapter for each sister in 2027. Amisha will be finding her footing at Stanford, and a year later, Ashna will join her, working to establish herself on the team.
Meanwhile, there are no senior players on the Cardinal roster for the 2026-27 campaign, while guard Hailee Swain will be entering her junior season when Amisha joins the program.
Incoming freshmen Elyse Ngenda (guard), Gracyn Gilliard (guard/forward), and Jordyn Wheeler (guard) will also be in that same guard mix as the Ramlall sisters over the coming years. The program is entering the upcoming season with just 12 players on the roster, so there are some open spots to work with to continue adding players for the 2027-28 campaign.
This leaner roster reflects Stanford's ongoing rebuild after a slew of top talent transferred following the 2025-26 season, including Lara Somfai and Nunu Agara.
The 2026-27 roster will be taking the first steps of the new direction for the program, while looking to make the NCAA tournament for the first time since joining the ACC.
