NFL receiving yards leaders after Week 1

Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books. As usual there were some impressive statistical performances put up by some of the biggest names in the NFL. Four of the top ten leaders in receiving yards picked up right where they left off and put up big numbers in Week 1. Below is a list of the top 10 players by receiving yards as we head into Week 2.

Chris Olave, who finished eighth in receiving yards last season got off to a huge start and is on pace to have over 3,000 receiving yards this season. While that pace will probably slow down, he’s in great shape to reach 1,000 yards for the fourth time in his career.

Zay Flowers was second with 150 yards last week. Flowers, who had five receptions and scored a touchdown, was the subject of debate over the summer when the Ravens signed him to a four-year, $140 million contract extension. After Baltimore’s 41-point outburst in the season opener, the doubters are quiet, but there are injury concerns.

Two tight ends cracked the top 10 with Trey McBride amassing 95 yards to go along with nine receptions and a touchdown. McBride finished last season with the sixth-most receiving yards. Buffalo’s Dalton Kincaid was the leading tight end this week with 130 yards.

And Josh Allen actually got two receivers into triple-digits on Sunday as DJ Moore had 100 yards and a touchdown in his Buffalo debut to go along with Kincaid’s monster game.

The Packers also had a big day through the air as Christian Watson and Matthew Golden combined for 242 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win the game.

Rookie third round pick Caleb Douglas out of Texas Tech led all rookies in receiving yards with 94 for the Dolphins.
