At LSU, Will Wade apparently still intends to roster former St. John’s forward RJ Luis, in defiance of the SEC and commissioner Greg Sankey.
After what we just saw with the SEC basically willing to ditch LSU over football and returning professionals, what will happen with basketball? It’s hard to imagine the conference would allow this, having just gone to the mat with Lane Kiffin.

Maybe not so rational.
Musselman is in the news for two stories. First, he allegedly exploded at former Trojan Chad Baker-Mazara after losing to Nebraska this past February.
Baker-Mazara alleges that, in the locker room, Musselman told him to “shut the f**k up! You are one of the worst teammates anyone can ever have!”
After Baker-Mazara protested, offering to leave, Musselman allegedly said “Yes, leave! Go back to the [expletive] Dominican Republic! Nobody wants you here!! [Expletive] you!”
Baker-Mazara is suing, alleging that he was not just kicked off the team the day after the Nebraska loss, but that his NIL income was also cut off.
After that, Musselman took his team out for a photo session under a pier on Manhattan Beach. A metal detectorist named Gary with a YouTube show wandered through, and a staffer confronted him. Then Musselman got in on it, cursing the guy, and telling him that “Somebody should f—king drop your ass is what should happen.”
None of this is a good look for Musselman. He’s apologized to Gary, but the lawsuit has yet to play out. And when recruits hear that he reneged on NIL checks, they’re very likely to take notice.
Musselman is basically dealing with embarrassment, but Wade is really playing with fire. It’s going to be interesting to see how far he pushes, and when the SEC decides it needs to smack a renegade LSU down again. Wade is many things, but he’s not a paragon of courage.
