Chelsea have new owners – sort of. Clearlake Capital this week bought out (or absorbed) the 40% or so of the company they didn’t own, meaning that their group now has full control.
That means no more Todd Boehly or Mark Walter, and hopefully no more conflict between owners. You can like or dislike the direction we’re going in, at least it will only be one direction now. Sam Wallace’s piece for the Telegraph today took a look at what it could mean in the big picture for the club.

The big question – and the issue it seems divided the ownership to begin with – was the stadium. Wallace lays out the old problems we’ve been over many times with regards to rebuilding Stamford Bridge or moving.
Then there’s Cobham, which it seems is going to be redeveloped. The Blues have bought more local land to expand there.
It’s also noted that Boehly has vacated the chairmanship – and nobody is quite sure what Clearlake will do with that position. It seems making it just a ceremonial role is most likely.
And that’s before we even get to what’s going on on the pitch…
