Indiana Fever duo Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have been put into the MVP conversation this year.

Likely to the surprise of very few people, both Caitlin and Kelsey were in great form when the Fever returned to the court on Friday against the Toronto Tempo.
Clark scored 28 points and provided 14 assists, while Mitchell’s 33 points on the night meant she has now set a record for the most points by any player in a single WNBA season.
Now, coach Stephanie White has been speaking about her star duo post-game, saying they are both ‘legitimate candidates for MVP’.

As quoted by Savanna Hamilton, White said: “When you think about the MVP, obviously numbers stand out. You know, I think it’s also about the impact of your team. You know, that’s obviously an argument that can go back and forth, but how do you how do you elevate your team as well as just have great numbers?
“I think both of them [Clark and Mitchell] have been able to do that for our team.
“When you look at it, it’s all scoring numbers certainly for Kelsey, but her efficiency with which she’s doing it.
“Caitlin, her scoring and assists have been off the charts, and I think both of them are legitimate candidates for MVP.”
But Clark and Mitchell are not the only players in the MVP race in 2026.
A’ja Wilson could pick up yet another award as she continues to lead the league with an average of 26.1 points per game.
Olivia Miles has also been put into the conversation amid her impressive rookie season with the Minnesota Lynx.
