MVDs: Oklahoma Edition

You don’t unceremoniously sink the Sooner Schooner without a total team effort. But even then some Bulldogs are bound to stand out above the crowd for their efforts. Those dandy ‘‘Dawgs are your MVDs, the Most Valuable Dawgs from Georgia’s 41-13 victory over Oklahoma.
Offense: Talyn Taylor. Taylor’s 4 catches for 110 yards represented a solid 1/3 of Georgia’s offense on the day. The sophomore is clearly playing with a lot more confidence in year two, and has avoided the dropped passes that dogged him as a freshman. To say I’m excited about what he can do for the remainder of the year would be an understatement.

Defense: Chris Cole. Talk about a no-brainer.Cole registered 8 tackles and a sack, which on its own would have put him squarely in the running for this honor. But when you add in two fumble recoveries, including the one where he rambled for a 85 yard touchdown, and there really was no other option.
Special teams: Drew Miller. The Bulldogs’ junior punter had two 50+ yard boots for touchbacks and landed his other three punts at the Oklahoma 15, 16, and 18 yard lines. We said before the game that a major key for the Red and Black would be forcing the Sooners to drive the entire field. Miller did everything in his power to meet that goal.
