Yet, even in the aftermath of a tough defeat, true character shines through. That was precisely the case for Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss following a painful 52-28 loss to the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Rather than retreating straight to the locker room after the final whistle, Chambliss displayed extraordinary sportsmanship. The Ole Miss starter stood patiently near the sideline, waiting through Florida head coach Jon Sumrall’s entire live postgame television interview on ESPN just to shake his hand and congratulate him on the victory.

It was a classy moment of respect between two competitors who shared history from Sumrall’s previous coaching matchups against Ole Miss. The setback marked a frustrating SEC opener for No. 4 Ole Miss. Florida’s relentless ground attack overwhelmed the Rebels’ defense from start to finish.

Gators running back Jadan Baugh powered Florida with 142 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, while tailback Duke Clark added 126 yards and a score.
