After the Chicago Bears cantered to a 23-12 win against the New York Jets on Sunday, defensive star Devin Bush wasn’t too impressed with the opposition.
The Chicago Bears moved to a 3-1 record after their win against the New York Jets on Sunday. Chicago was in control of the game from start to finish, dominating the ball and stifling their opponents throughout. They held possession for a whopping 42 minutes during the game, which says everything.

The 23-12 scoreline suggests that the game was a lot closer than it actually was, the Bears shut the Jets down methodically at every turn. If it looked to fans like it was a very comfortable win for Chicago, that was confirmed by one of the team’s defensive stars after.
Linebacker Devin Bush said ‘he’s not sore at all’ after calling it one of the easiest NFL games he has ever played
At the highest level, every matchup tends to be a tough one. Sundays are a grind, especially for a physical position like linebacker. But one aspect of the Bears’ aforementioned dominance against the Jets made this game quite simple for Devin Bush.
Speaking after the game, he highlighted the amount of possession the offense had. Kyle Monangai rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns, while Tyson Bagent threw for 268 yards. This meant the defense just didn’t have to play as much as they normally have to.
“It’s fun, man, we gotta get ourselves into more situations like that,” Bush told the media. “As you can see, they (the Bears’ offence) are capable of doing a lot of great things. Holding the ball for 42 minutes is wild. Probably one of the easiest NFL games I done played in, I’m not sore at all… It’s great. I got bored.”
For any serious football team, hearing this from a player who just beat you is the ultimate slap in the face. The Jets may have their problems and they may have a 1-3 record, but the team will have to show a lot more than they did against the Bears if they don’t wish to be ridiculed further.
