As expected, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young doesn't want his MVP chants to be just about him.

Sunday night's 32-26 win over the Detroit Lions played host to one of Young's best NFL performances to date. The 2023 No. 1 overall pick completed 29 of his 41 passes for 329 yards and a pair of touchdowns when the lights were shining their brightest.
In the fourth quarter, the fans inside Bank of America Stadium—who were seeing their team's first Sunday night home game in 11 years—showered Young with "MVP" chants. Young, following the victory, was asked if he heard the crowd.
"Yeah," he admitted with a wide smile. "In the moment, you just focus in on execution and trying to move the team. Obviously, a huge blessing—the support.
"I mean, the Bank tonight was electric. They caused some false starts, they made it hard on them. And when the Bank's rocking like that, we take some pride in that. Super, super grateful for the fans."
Many of those fans may have been questioning, at least coming into the 2026 campaign, if Young was really the answer under center for their long-suffering franchise. But he may have answered that four games in—as he heads out of Week 4 as the NFL's leader in passing yards (1,268), first-down completions (63), completions of at least 10 yards (55) and completions of at least 25 yards (13).
Young also received the MVP treatment from his teammates, who were waiting on him in the locker room after the triumphant performance . . .

When asked to expound on his thoughts on all the love, Young—again—kept the big picture in sight.
"Again, I'll be honest. In the moment, I was just thinking about trying to get the next play off," he replied. "It's still fresh. So, again, obviously, the support is a huge blessing. I'm super grateful for this community, for the fan base. It's been amazing being out here.
"But again, it doesn't affect us as a football team. It doesn't give us any extra yards, any extra points. We have to earn those. Again, it's a bye week—so we'll go back, we'll do some self-scout, see what we can improve on, get ready for the next week. So turn the page and it's all about football."
