Angel Reese helped the Atlanta Dream open the WNBA playoff semifinals with a 92-82 victory on Sunday. The former LSU women's basketball star continues to play a major role in the first postseason games of her professional career.

In Game 1 of the semifinals against the New York Liberty, Reese scored 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds. She also added four steals, three blocks, and two assists. She shot 60% from the field and knocked down her lone three-point attempt.

Reese, the Defensive Player of the Year, will deal with veteran forwards Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones all series. The Liberty's front court duo combined for 31 points and 13 rebounds. Reese played 30 minutes on Sunday and helped the Dream outscore the Liberty 18-0 in transition, getting back on defense while also running the floor on the attack.

Through three postseason games, Reese is averaging 15 points and 8.7 rebounds. She is in her first season with the Dream after two years with the Chicago Sky, which drafted her at No. 7 overall in 2024.
