The Baltimore Ravens outlasted the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football, scoring a 30-23 Week 5 win that included a strong performance from backup QB Tyler Huntley, drawing praise from a key teammate. Lamar Jackson was ruled out before the game, granting Huntley the big stage to show what he can do against Jeff Ulbrich’s Falcons defense.

Huntley accomplished something amazing that was pointed out by reporter Zak Koeppel following his huge performance in the Ravens’ comeback win.
“Tyler Huntley joined Blaine Gabbert in a 49ers win over the Bears in December 2015 as the only quarterbacks since 2000 to have a passing touchdown and rushing touchdown (in either order) on a game-tying drive in regulation and then a game-winning drive in overtime.”

Huntley was emboldened by support from star running back Derrick Henry before the game, which gave him the confidence he needed to come out and play his best in a hostile environment. The veteran backup QB Huntley found seven different receivers, including Rashod Bateman five times and Zay Flowers eight times, showing his poise and veteran leadership against a Falcons defense that rattled his team early with a huge fumble return touchdown from safety Jessie Bates.
A road game against the upstart Browns will give Huntley and Minter’s team a chance to continue their positive momentum on the road in Cleveland. The Ravens will look forward to getting Jackson back while also appreciating the talented backup quarterback they already have in the fold as their season continues to progress into Week 6.
