Stephen A. Smith compares Dak Prescott’s production for Cowboys to Tony Romo’s

Dak Prescott

Despite the Green Bay Packers dropping three would-be touchdowns, and the defense being without Micah Parsons, Edgerrin Cooper, and Javon Hargrave, Green Bay cruised to a  23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw two interceptions in the loss, both in Packers territory, and ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith did not hold back in his criticisms of the Cowboys veteran on Monday’s episode of First Take.

“Time and time and time again, [Jerry Jones] he puts the ball in Dak Prescott’s hands in key moments. And time and time and time again, they have come up short,” Stephen A. Smith said on the popular debate show.

“There’s only two playoff victories in ten years as a starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Danny White has a better playoff record than Dak Prescott… Tony Romo’s got a better playoff record than Dak Prescott. Tony Romo, who, by the way, got two; his record is two and four. Why do we know that? Cause Dak is two and five. I give you $60 million, and you still can’t find a way to win damn playoff games.”

In Prescott’s defense, while the Cowboys offense has struggled as of late, he has been in the upper echelon of NFL quarterbacks in recent seasons, but Dallas’ defense has been among the worst in the league, and changing coordinators on that side of the ball hasn’t seemed to help much, if at all.

For Prescott’s part, he’s turning his focus to Sunday’s matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I don’t have the answer for the whole team and what that is, but I believe in who we are, and I know we have the talent and the men that care. We just have to put it together,” the quarterback said, via The Athletic’s Jon Machota.

“Our process is right, but we have to win on Sunday.”
