The Wildcats fell 27-24 at Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado.
Here's how we would grade the Wildcats' latest loss.
OFFENSE GRADE: C+
Blake Barnett's late-regulation heroics put the Wildcats in a position to win. Grading on a curve because of the quarterback situation, the Wildcats' offense did almost as much as you could ask for.
DEFENSE GRADE: D
Kansas State continued the theme of allowing explosive plays, and they happen far too often on third downs. The group can get after the quarterback, but it's clear that everything else will need to be reevaluated after the season. At least it gave the Wildcats' offense some chances late.
SPECIAL TEAMS GRADE: F
Kansas State needs to end the experiment with Brandon White as a returner. Luis Rodriguez also missed a pair of field goals, with one being due to a bad snap-hold process.
COACHING GRADE: C+
Good on Collin Klein for giving Dillon Duff a quick hook in the first quarter. Klein did what he could with the Wildcats' quarterback problems, but concern over Jordan Peterson's defense is growing by the game.
GAME MVP: Blake Barnett, QB
For the second straight game, the Wildcats had a backup who could manage the game, make a few plays, and put them in a position to win.
OVERALL TEAM GRADE: D
It was fun late, but the Wildcats' performance left much to be desired. Colorado isn't a good team either.
