Despite all of PSG's pressure, Troyes dug in and saw a late goal from Lucas Maronnier ruled out for offside, as Luis Enrique's side were left three points clear at the top of the table above rivals Paris FC.

PSG - who had thrashed Villarreal 6-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night - made a bright start as Senny Mayulu struck the woodwork twice inside the opening six minutes.

Mayulu first saw his shot from the edge of the box deflected on to a post by Troyes goalkeeper Hillel Konate and then was played clear by Desire Doue, but his angled effort hit the left upright.

Troyes, who beat fellow strugglers Le Mans last week, sparked into life after 22 minutes when Renaud Ripart's strike from the left side of the area dragged wide.

The hosts were soon back on the offensive as Warren Zaire-Emery's cross was met by a header from Zabarnyi which forced another smart reaction save from Konate.

PSG keeper Matvey Safonov then had to be alert to stop a header from Ripart.

Zabarnyi broke the deadlock six minutes before half-time when he planted a header into the far corner after Mayulu had swung the ball back in from the left.

Ferran Torres went close in first-half stoppage time when his strike was saved by Konate after being played in down the right by Zaire-Emery.

Ripart remained a threat for Troyes and went close again early in the second half when picked out in the box by a pass from Antoine Mille and sent his shot narrowly wide.

Zaire-Emery glanced a header just past the left post from Doue's floated cross in the 59th minute and Torres was denied by another smart stop from Konate before at the other end Ismael Boura's header was stopped by Safonov.

PSG pushed forward again in the closing 20 minutes as Mayulu's 20-yard effort flew just wide.

Troyes thought they had equalized with seven minutes left when Maronnier fired in after Safonov had punched away Idrissa Soukouna's drive following a corner, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
